The Gift of Music Recorder Drive

Join us in making a difference! The district is on a mission to collect 1500 recorders to then be donated to elementary schools across the Southeast. Every chapter, member, and alum is encouraged to give the gift of music by way of donation.

Why a recorder drive?

The recorder is typically the first instrument that students are taught to play. The simplicity of recorders allows for students to easily understand the concept of music, while being durable enough for the average 7-year-old.

The purpose of this project is to provide more than funds, but to provide physical instruments to students. This is a way for our organizations to create future musicians, one recorder at a time.

What is our goal?

The goal of this project is to collect 1500 recorders. The recorders will then be divided and distributed to 15 elementary schools across the Southeast.

What are the costs?

The average classroom size is is 20-30 students. The cost of one recorder is approximately $3. If every chapter were to donate 15 recorders, the estimated cost would be about $50. Therefore, we can supply an entire classroom with recorders for about $100.
